Why do I need Vordur?
Do you know where your install and setup files are? Can you remember the 17 character serial number for your photo editor software? Or the 29 character password for .... what was it again??? Where did that InstallXYZ.EXE come from?
If you have ever asked yourself questions like those, you need Vordur!
Manage your installations
When you download software from the web or purchase software in the
local computer store you usually get some kind of serial number,
keycode or unlock code. If you download the software you might
also need to remember where you downloaded it from, perhaps even
a login name and password for authorized access to the files.
Vordur helps you manage all this information easily by keeping it all in one place. You can import information from files or folders or you can enter the information manually.
The Install list shows you all the software installs that you have and gives you detailed view of each install file. You can group the installs together to make it easier to find things. You can enter detailed information about the producer of the software including email and website information. Vordur will then create active weblinks where this information is shown to make it easy for you to go to the producer website for information or support.
Keep track of your setups and installs
Vordur is designed to be able to keep track of all information related to software installs. Vordur keeps track of the actuall install files, not what has been installed on your computer. It will not go chasing all over your hard drive to try to find what you have already installed. What it will do is make it easy for you to manage all the information about your installs so you never have to go hunting for download information or serial numbers again.Manage downloaded software
When you download software that you purchase or even free software, you need to know where
you downloaded it from so you know where to go if you need to download again. Not all
software has link to websites built in. Tell Vordur where you got it, and it will remember!
Vordur keeps it all in one place ready for you to use when you need it. The download information is all on one tab ready for you to use if you need to download the software again. Click the button next to the "Download URL" and Vordur will open the URL in your browser. If the URL is a direct download URL to a file, your browser will attempt to download it. The download URL is also a hotlink on the main install list window. You can add unlimited information for each install into the "Additional Information" list.
Know where your install files are
When you buy software from the internet the first thing you usually need to do is download
an install for it. Or you may already have downloaded it and installed it. But will you
be able to remember where that install was a year from now when you need to install it again?
Vordur will!
In some cases you may need to run some additional software to extract and execute the actual install. Vordur has an option for that built in and you can even send command line parameters to the program that you need to run. Vordur has built in macros for the Install file name and the install password so they can be passed to the program if needed.
Who made your software?
Information about the software producer is very important because that is where you would need to go to get support, report problems or check for updates to your software. Vordur makes this easy by allowing you to enter any information you need about software producers. In addition to internet addresses and physical address you can enter upto 60,000 characters into comments for each producer. This makes it easy to enter any information you want.Want to try it?
